Tiny Two's Programme.

Our ten week Tiny Two's programme is an unparented, 30 minute class once per week for ten weeks.

This class introduces two-year-olds to creative movement in dance in a very fun and interactive way. Our goal is to allow students to work at their own pace while developing social skills, rhythm coordination, balance and use of space. Popular children's songs and the use of wands, scarves and teddy bears allow the children creative exploration.

Ballet...(all ages and classes)

Axis Dance Centre follows the Royal Academy of Dancing Syllabus (R.A.D.) from Pre-primary through to Grade 8. Each Ballet class will incorporate the study of traditional classical Ballet steps, free movement and the study of traditional character dances from other cultures.

As ballet is a very technical and disciplined art form, it is the core to all other styles of movement. Ballet develops precision, strength, poise and the balance needed in more advanced levels of Jazz, Tap and Modern Dance. With this in mind students are encouraged to attend two classes per week beginning from the Grade 2 level.

Jazz - ages 6 years and up.

Jazz incorporates many other styles and forms of dancing. Like Jazz music, Jazz dancing will bring together ideas from rock and roll, swing, hip-hop, and blues. These classes are very high energy, challenging and fun.

The emphasis of our Jazz programme will be on strength, flexibility and the development of movement combinations. We feel that students should be 6 years of age as of September to participate.

Tap - ages 6 years and up

Tap is a very fast paced and technical art form that requires the use of fine motor skills. We feel that students should be 6 years of age in September to begin to study tap dancing.
